Artist Statement

Time is the shadow under which we all live and adhere - its rules are solid, unchanging, and continuous – but throughout life, there are portals through which we can escape the rigidity of life’s ticking clock. Art is my portal. While I am working on any project, I can feel my past selves and future selves merging into one timeless moment, which brings me more comfort than anything in the world. This is why I make art – to harness that connection and to find peace within myself – an experience I want to share with others too.

I use my drawing and painting to create windows looking into other worlds, using representational techniques and telling stories that probe deeper thought in a world distracted by screens and technology. I hope to use my art to raise awareness about the broader picture of life beyond the screen blocking the view.
